Lynch-rescue pilot evades media, completely

MILLEDGEVILLE - Officials at Georgia Military College turned away reporters and photographers who were invited to hear a speech Wednesday by a helicopter pilot involved in the rescue of Jessica Lynch.

Col. Jim LeBrun, the principal of GMC's high school, and Janeen Smith, the public relations director for the school, stopped members of the media outside the auditorium with "bad news."

LeBrun said Marine Maj. Craig Kopel told them before giving the speech that he would not speak if any members of the media were present. They said he did not want his name or photograph printed, though his name was in a news release announcing his appearance. Kopel was scheduled to speak to junior and high school students.

LeBrun said Kopel would "get in trouble" if he spoke to or in front of the media.

1. isn't he like the only rescuer left alive now?
I don't blame him for wanting to remain low-key! :scared:

3. So I guess you're pissed at her for not towing the Bush Admin Line?
I'd like to see your behavior if you went through what she went through... You'd cry like a little "Bitch" yourself!

4. slow down there.....
whoa...hold on there. let me explain myself. In my opinion, heroes do not go on Dateline or the Today Show, they remain out of the public eye. Take Shoshanna Johnson for example. She went exactly what Lynch went through, but you've never heard her side of things. Why? Because the media wants to put a pretty little white face to this war. There are lots more POW's than just Lynch and if they're gonna lavish all this attention on her than they should do it for every POW of this war. But a real hero wouldn't accept that. He would remain quiet, knowing that he ha ddone his duty to his country and that is good enough for him.

I didn't mean to make you mad, but I am REAAALY tired of Lynch getting all the attention

5. Lynch didn't meet with him because she doesn't believe him
Jessica Lynch told Dianne Sawyer that she wasn't interrogated and no one slapped her, unlike in his story.

7. ?
I just clicked it and it worked for me. For now, anyway. If it keeps acting screwy, take off all that stuff at the end of the URL, and search the Macon.com site. Mayhaps that'll work.

8. Yeah, just what we're looking for here, a "positive spin" on the war?!
what is your DEAL!?

How DARE you call her a bitch?

The Iraqi who supposedly led troops to her is an opportunistic BFEE hack.

How DARE you!?

Though I'm sure you've been tombstoned by now, I just had to express my outrage and let you know your trash is not going to go unanswered.
