The spin begins ... AOL site "correcting" story, saying Rush never said he'd leave the U.S.

Um ... he did say he'd leave the U.S. ... the spin is now the "Baldwin wager" ... which is bogus, since Alec Baldwin was never quoted as saying he'd leave the U.S. if Bush was elected. At the time, the person who would later become his ex-wife (in a bitter divorce) made that claim ... so take that person's word with a two-ton block of salt ...

To quote the story:

"Correction, March 10, 1:16 pm An earlier version of this story mistakenly reported that Rush Limbaugh had threatened to move to Costa Rica if Congress passed health care reform. Instead, Mr. Limbaugh said that he would travel to Costa Rica for medical care if the bill was passed while continuing to reside in this country."

and the spin, not quoting the caller's question, but giving a direct quote of Rush:

"I'll just tell you this, if this passes and it's five years from now and all that stuff gets implemented, I am leaving the country. I'll go to Costa Rica."

see that? "I am leaving the country." How clear is that?

However, Bush never was elected. He STOLE both elections, so the argument against Baldwin is bogus.

and judging by the way the divorce went, she wasn't exactly the best source for damning statements on what he said ... wonder what she claimed about him in the divorce papers ...

The drug-addled gasbag promised his listeners that if health care passed, he would move to Costa Rica in five years ... he left out the minor detail that Costa Rica HAS government-supported health care. Oops.
