Will media complain if the "independant report" doesn't explain no shoot
down orders. The 911 timeline/reports imply Bush refused to order shoot down - the initial Cape Cod news reports from Otis Air Base implied a request for a shoot down order and no reply. And our Media says what if the "independent investigation" does not discuss this?

Does anyone wonder why there have been no national media comments on the Cape Cod Times 9/11 Otis Air pilots interviews – and the inconsistency to current Pentagon Brass testimony since then. The story was all over Otis on 9/12 - but not allowed to speak to media since then, until they speak in support of new story put out by Pentagon Brass and give us the "new slow speed - but we went flat out" story? Why were the pilots never told there were multiple highjackings until after the fact, or that Flight 11 had hit the WTC?

Of course, years later the public still does not have the FAA to NORAD communication, or the Radar Tracks of the Intercepting planes to review. Whether because of conspiracy, or because of criminal incompetence -a cover-up seems obvious - and one wonders if the "Independent investigation" will be allowed to release base data. now!

Otis F-15's Scrambled To Intercept Flight 11, not 175
From: http://www.capecodonline.com/special/terror/ithought21.htm

A second hijacked airliner had just sliced into the towers on the morning of Sept. 11, and the two Otis pilots were trying to clear the airspace over Lower Manhattan. "When we turned around, all we saw was Lower Manhattan covered in dust and debris," said one of the pilots, who lives in Forestdale and is just now speaking publicly about that day..The 35-year-old pilot, who follows military safety protocol by using his call name, Nasty, rather than his real name in the media, thought terrorists had just struck again..<snip>
At 8:40 a.m., all that was going to change. An American Airlines flight out of Boston had apparently been hijacked, a colleague told Nasty. There hadn't yet been an official call for a scramble, but the two pilots on alert duty hustled to a nearby room and donned flight gear.As they walked across the airfield to their jets, which stood armed on alert, a horn sounded and the public address system blared their instructions: This was an official military scramble. They should report to their battle stations. According to the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD - which is responsible for U.S. and Canadian airspace - the scramble was ordered at 8:46 a.m. Within moments, they were traveling at supersonic speeds. All the pilots knew was that they were to intercept one airliner that appeared headed toward New York City.

Comment- SUPERSONIC SPEEDS - F-15 speed is said to be Mach2.2 (1,674 miles per hour) - but story says second plane hit at 9:02 when they were 71 miles or 8 minutes from Manhattan - meaning a speed of 532/m per hour. Why go slow - at top speed they arrive Manhattan in 10 minutes at 8:56 - plenty of time to intercept before the 9:02 second hit on the WTC. Pilots say they went as fast as possible, and they would not lie. Is the timeline a problem for anyone in the media? - And ground crew at Otis said that pilots complained about not being given a kill order by Bush. Is there a lie the independant commission will explain?

continuing from the article "The plan was to find the airliner on the jets' radar, follow it, let the ground controllers know what was going on. But it was already too late. By the time the jets had left Otis, Flight 11 had crashed into the World Trade Center. Eleven months later, Nasty doesn't even recall hearing that the first plane hit. And by the time he heard a word about a second hijacked plane, United Airlines Flight 175, it had already smashed into the second tower before the horrified eyes of millions on TV."

Comment: Is he implying he was never told about Flight 175 until after it hit the WTC? That happened at 9:02 a.m., according to NORAD records. The two Otis F-15s were about 71 miles - or eight minutes - from Manhattan. Visibility was extremely clear that morning, and Nasty could see the plume of black smoke pouring from the first tower. Why no comment on second tower smoke – perhaps they really got their BEFORE the second plane hit - and were waiting for Presidential orders to shoot down plane - as was rumored at Otis on 9/12.

The story then says that the jets were - after the wtc towers were hit and one had collapsed - were directed to a 150-mile chunk of air space off Long Island where the unit's pilots typically train.

Comment: the order makes no sense. If they got there before, this leads to conspiracy thoughts. Even if after, and two buildings have been hit, the order makes no sense.

The article says both were at JFK about 15 miles from the World Trade Center, when the first tower collapsed. and that "At one point, a civilian controller said that if another plane were hijacked it would have to be shot down. But that, Nasty says, was an off-the-cuff statement. At no point were pilots instructed by the military to shoot down any airliners. And any discussions now about shooting down airliners, he says, is conjecture. At the time of the first two hijackings, the military pilots couldn't be sure the commercial pilots weren't having electrical problems, for example. Besides, the only person who could have ordered them to be shot down was the president, and he was still at a public event when the second tower was hit. "If we had shot down four airliners on Sept. 11, we wouldn't have been heroes," Nasty says. "You don't have the choice of outcomes. They're all bad." "If we had intercepted American 11, we probably would have watched it crash," he says. "We didn't have the authority to (shoot it down)."

Comment - Again, Why refer to intercepting American 11? Seems they were sent to intercept American 11, but the Norad time line says American 11 had hit the WTC before they were off the ground. Also lack of a shoot down command makes sense until the first tower is hit. May even make sense until the second tower is hit at 9:03 EDT as Nasty contends. But after 9:03 EDT (when the 2nd tower was hit), it makes no sense whatsoever--as any "civilian controller" could tell you. So why did Bush keep reading at the school and not issue shoot down orders?

"When he landed about 4 1/2 hours later at Otis, it was a different base....Nasty was told by a crew member on the ground that another airliner had smashed into the Pentagon. And he was told that a military F-16 had shot down a fourth airliner in Pennsylvania, a report that turned out to be incorrect.

Comment - Was the report of 9/12 of a shoot down of the plane in Penn. really incorrect?

Does anyone think the US media will complain if the "independant report" does not explain this?

1. There have been too many shoot-downs of journalists for it to be

a good idea for media to complain about anything.

2. I sadly agree - I saw your I/P post but why say I disagree yet again?
NPR had interviews with various Palestinian folks on 12/31 who were selling the same idea as your post.

God, I wish folks could agree on a compromise so kids can have a better future - on both sides.

In any case - staying away from I/P thoughts - I keep hoping that someone in the national media will show some pride - somewhere - re Bush and his obvious lies.

sigh ...

:-)
