But over the course of the past few weeks, I have read many assertions that the voters in Iowa and New Hampshire are free thinking folks who just happened to vote for the candidate they thought best.

Major league BS. Please read the long and well argued thesis below regarding the manipulation of the vote through the media.

I'm glad I'm not the only one utterly puzzled by the deification of John Kerry, not least on this board.

Once Kerry is crowned the nominee, then the gloves will come off the Republican opposition. I doubt he'll be able to raise the money, despite opting out of the matching finances, to counter the onslaught of advertising that Bush's $200 million plus will put out there. I know I won't donate money to him so he can pay off the second mortgage he took out recently.
