Why is it so hard to get casualties counted? 328 US/Brit Dead, 1289 wounded,10,446 Iraqi

Why is this a number that the US media seems to have a hard time finding?

Indeed I do not see on TV the fact 142 of the US/Brit dead are post May 1 – our Media thinks it is more fun to separate the bodies into combat and "non-combat - meaning drove over a mine or friendly-fire"

And God forbid US Media ever mention the 2320 Iraq military dead, or the 7798 Iraq civilian dead, or they might have to talk about the total of 10,446 Iraqi dead in our oh so clean war – and wounded Iraqi estimates are near 20,000 – but saying Bush’s lies cost 30,000 casualties is not as nice as each day say 100 or so casualties to date on the evening newscast. (The 2320 is the US military estimate for Baghdad area - Iraqi dead in other areas not estimated, and the Iraq civilan dead may be high and could be only 6087 rather than 7796; and the Iraqi civilan wounded may even be as low as 10,000)

The 6 o'clock news also does not mention the $5 billion per month cost of the war ($4 billion Iraq, $1 billion Afghanistan). Because Bush does not want other countries to influence his decisions - God forbid the UN have a voice - the American people must pay the full bill rather than sharing with other nations. Of course we have a promise of soon have 20,000 not US troops (10, 000 Brits) in Iraq – with the non-Brits in general paid by us to visit.

Yeah, as if dying from pnuemonia, or sand in the lungs, or whatever else they get simply by being over there isn't combat related. Of course it is!
