My TiVo freaked last night (4 conflicting programs scheduled :crazy: ) and I missed it......

You saw Maher successfully attacking Tweety. But Tweety didn't acknowledge anything. He went blithely on, quoting the same old party line, cheerfully ignoring Maher. Maher could have said "Matthews, you're on a train track and the train is coming...the train is coming...THE TRAIN IS COMING!" and Matthews would keep talking and interrupting and bringing up Kerry's medals and ribbons.

This wasn't a debate. This wasn't a discussion. The only positive thing was that Maher stuck to his guns and didn't wilt in the face of this modern-day equivalent of Goebbels.

I have never seen "Hardball" before, but watched last night when I heard Maher was going to be on.

I was amazed at how moronic Matthews came across. He didn't acknowledge anything that came out of Maher's mouth, except for the joke Maher made about drinking paint...which Matthews then spent the next 2 minutes chuckling about it, grinning like a vegetable, and repeating to himself "drink the paint..."

Also, the final comment he made to Maher ("It must be nice not to have to be fair and balanced, Bill") was absolutely shameless.

It terrifies me that people actually watch this shit everyday.
I think my IQ dropped 20 points just sitting through yesterday's episode.
