I Need help against Conservatives
Ok, I am also a member of a conservative web site called rightnation.us(don't worry, I post there mostly to make em mad). Anyways, they are putting out a section called "Liberal Lies" CAn anybody help me with this. They're saying liberals are lying about the 2000 election, that FDR's new deal didn't help America, and they're pretty much adopting Anne Coulter's view of liberalism. Can anybody help me out with this?

3. a year or so ago Malloy had on his webpage a letter about all
the things democrats have done for the country and how republicans always fought it - rural electricity to the GI Bill.

It was a letter in the Tulsa World some years ago; one of his listeners in OK sent it to him.

IT WAS FABULOUS.

Anyone have a link? Malloy? anyone?

what you should do is put your energy into converting somebody who's on the fence. try to get people to vote against Bush, people who have ears to hear and eyes to see. In other words, not members of "rightnation.us" which, to me, sounds frightening.

if you feel like carrying through with your attempts to change their way of thinking, try to stay on topic. Use Bush's words against him. Tell the Repubs "everything changed on sept. 11th" and we shouldn't be talking about the past so much as the present and the future. Then move on to rationale for Iraq war. Also, don't come across as anti-war. Re-iterate that you supported military action in Afghanistan. Dont be afraid to give a little ground - then when they bite (sensing weakness) strike them hard with the fact that Bush is cutting active service military pay, veterans benefits, hazard pay, family separation benefits and so on. That's what I'd do.

Then again, I've never been about lurking on RW boards arguing with the sheep. We only have a year left and we need to spend it wisely.

8. The Constitution is a liberal document, a DUer reminded us.
She says with a heartfelt sigh.

Essentially, all Americans who support the Constitution are liberals in a Lockian sense. What has happened to cause the current vitriol is hard to understand, except perhaps a lack of a civics education One glimmer also comes from a term I've been seeing lately, "Mayberry Machiavellis". So, it seems to boil down to the age old struggle for control and power. We know things are getting bad when old line conservative Republicans, economists and pundits begin to sound the alarm. What has happened to fiscal restraint and smaller government? They are gone in a fog of lies and myth. I don't think real conservatives are the enemy, corporatist are a different matter. They have no philosophy that is not driven by greed and gain. They need to be unmasked.

9. I woudl call them phoney conservatives
after all nothing at all that bush has done can be called conservative
if that word is to mean anything

the size of government has ballooned under this asshole as well
as the amount of control government has over our lives

these shit bags also don't stand for the constitution and the bill
of rights

and certainly when it comes to the economy they are no friend of business unless it is one of their crony companies like halliburton

also ask the bootlickers over there how they like being poked and prodded and investigated like they are criminals when they go to
get on an airplane here in gwb's amerika, meanwhile he opens the borders
for immigrants (the immigrant issue really eats up these racists btw)

just my 2 cents

10. Lying is a learned tacit from the right.
So-called Liberals are not sinless angels. There is corruption on both sides of the political spectrum. When a Liberal lies, it's mostly for a personal peccadillo and a damaged reputation. There is no confraternity.Matter of fact, the only conspiracy Liberals ever was involved in was fixing a nude volleyball match in Santa Monica So-Cal.Neo-Cons on the other hand, there is a cabal. When they lie, it's pernicious. They all subscribe to that Philosophical hack, "Leo Strauss" belief, "It's OK to lie for the sake of good". Overzealous Liberals get so desperate to win a election, they will imitate Karl Roves tacit or Watergate Plumbers strategy. It usually backfires on them and gives the right more ammunition. Ann Coulter? How can you believe some one who lies about her age, past and eating disorder. See? I can can play the same game.

12. FDR and "New Deal" programs
During the years of the great depression, which correspond pretty much to the FDR presidency, industrialized nations, including the US faced political crisis; mass demonstrations, violence and etc.. A substantial portion of these nations embraced totalitarian leadership of the most ruthless sort (Hitler, Franco, Stalin). Those who did not managed to save their versions of democracy by developing social programs to curb the likelihood that working people would enlist in revolutionary causes while subsidizing selected portions of their capitalist economies. Perhaps your neo-con friends would have preferred an america that used Hitler or Stalins programs for addressing dissent. More likely, their opinion leaders (Ann Couter included) may simply believe that the working classes are now sufficiently cowed and that dissent in this era ought to be dealt with by the tactics of the fascists, building a police state justified by a perpetual war.

13. that's exactly why they're mad
They are really fascists at heart (you need only look at their lying, bullying tactics to confirm that), and they're mad that Roosevelt stopped the coming of a fascist state...
