Would you say Bush is a divider?

Democrat John Kerry criticized Republicans on Wednesday for denying him a chance to cast a Senate vote, blaming a partisan culture created by President Bush and calling his rival "the greatest divider as a president in the modern history of this country."

I believe that he has divided this country worse than I've ever seen it and I've been around a NUMBER of years. Not only that, he's alienated us around the world.

his speeches?? if you can call them that before he was PUT in office by the SC about how he wouldn't be a nation builder, how he is a compassionate conservative--yeah, if you're rich--not a divider. How do we get rid of this guy? Why can't people see what is behind his forehead? Can't see air, right?

Bush ain't a Divider, he is an outright DESTROYER

and our Senate and Congress - offices, businesses.

He unites in that a large group of us in this country are united with people all over the world who can't believe what is happening here and are hoping we vote him out. We are united against the neo-cons = the cabal - the BFEE, and their corporate, bank, media, and military friends.

Texas, having been a one-party (Democratic) state for many, many years, had a history of conservatives and liberals working together, though they were in the same party. As Republicans began increasing their numbers in the legislature and winning statewide office (partly due to Democrats changing parties,) that tradition continued for awhile. You'd have thought Bush invented bipartisanship, the way he campaigned on it, but it used to be our way.

Of course, the partisanship now is legendary, with lawmakers having to leave the state to protest the blatant rewriting of rules and trampling of traditionally bipartisan compromise. Saddam Hussein would look like a uniter compared to Perry!

Also, the governor of Texas has nowhere near the leadership authority of the president. The two most powerful offices in Texas are the Lt. Governor (also president of the Senate) and the speaker of the house. They set the rules and literally make the decisions about which bills will make it to the floor.

So Bush's good ole boy act worked well enough to lead people to believe he was a uniter, but it was a farce -- albeit enough of one to get him selected!

We're getting the union workers back. The old Democratic base is reformeing. Some Republicans are with us, as are some Libertarians. Yup, Bush has changed the political landscape. Gotta say that for him. :)
