The World Turned Upside Down.

(Or: "The Neo-Tornado Spins out of Control".)

Things have become the opposite of what they were. And things have become the opposite of what, by their very definition, they are supposed to be.

Conservatism, for example, has become some parody of itself, with no care or thought for anything that we have learned or built, through all our years of history and tradition.

Free Market Theory has become reduced to some nonsense, with no care for the essential market fundamentals of competition, choice and elasticity of supply and demand -- to say nothing of implementing practical policies to assist the market. But policies are meaningless when their underlying theory has been reduced to a single point, and has, therefore, lost its utility in understanding (in this case) the market.

The major media has gone from being generally liberal people, who reported the news fairly, to a propaganda machine, largely controlled by the government and the neos. And, of course, the neos and their allies must add insult to injury, and persist in calling the media "Liberal" -- but this is just part of the pattern.

Politics as practiced by the neos has become the pursuit of the individual interest and not the National one. Other traditional parties are dismissed in this scheme, and politics has gone from the calling of community-minded gentlemen to a "sport" controlled by self-interested neo thugs.

Neighbors, darkness extends farther over the Nation with each passing day, and we are expected to call it the coming of the light. We give away every day more of everything that matters and we are expected to call it good. Our Nation is weakened increasingly as days pass and we are expected to call it Nationalism.

...

Friends, it's like this. If the neos say a thing is one way, first look in the opposite direction. And if the opposite isn't there to be found, then think about why the neos are pushing this "story line". Usually, this will be enough to keep you from looking too hard at their version of the "truth". For it will be easy to determine the sort of "frame" that the neos will use -- it will be the frame that distorts the truth to their openly selfish ends. And in this pursuit, expect them to try to make the truth a "lie" and a lie the "truth"...

And then and only then, turn your attention to their "frame", their "spin", their "story", their bullshit, their lie -- and you will see nothing useful of the truth left there.

Try it, it's easy -- and it might prove useful to you. -- And it is called perspective. You can use it on a lot of things.

For when you settle for pretense, it is all that you are ever going to get... ever, and forever.

(This is, I agree, rushed.)

1. Well ...
If that's rushed, I'd be afraid of what you'd write when you're not rushed! Afraid in a good way, that is. In short -- excellent. :)
