Sell your stocks or just pretend to be a progressive/Buy death
It's time to sell ALL your stocks. Put the money in short term Treasury paper or whatever, but sell your stock.

This has nothing to do with market timing. Screw money. This is about principal. The stock market is now totally corrupt and modern finance is as much the author of all the things progressives abhor as any other single thing.

Sell stocks for life. Buy stocks, buy death. Death by the was is wonderfull for stocks. Make money the old fashioned way, over the bodies of the insignificant.

Make an individual statement. Not that it could or would happen and don't hope it will but if several million liquidate their equity holdings then the emperors nakedness will be recognized.

2. I always thought of it as a pyramid scheme
That has to have a constant input of money to make up for the profits that are taken out
And this is why there is so much interest in getting hold of the SS trust fund and SS insurance tax money, to keep the pyramid from collapsing.
]I myself have never held stocks for personal moral reasons, so it does not effect me at all, but to each his own.

3. Well, I've never owned any stocks anyway, I'm just a wage slave.
Were I ever in a position do so, I wouldn't, for the sake of principle.

My own "strike a blow against the Empire" exhortation would be for all progressives to refuse to own/use credit cards. Keep your money in a credit union, and get a debit/check card (which works just as well as credit card, plus you don't spend money you don't actually have).

Make your resistance REAL -- refuse to support the corporate money machine.

4. Real Estate, too.
If you have investment property, cash out while rates are still low. The Fed will have to correct after years of falsely propping up the housing market--the only sector of the economy that didn't suffer in the past 4 years of fiscal irresponsibility. The recent Fannie Mae snafu is only the tip of the iceberg.

If you are struggling to make your mortgage payments on your principal home but have significant equity, consider selling and cashing out. If you've been considering your equity as your nest egg against retirement or future economic need, the future is here.

Pretty soon, no one will be able to afford to buy, especially when rates skyrocket back to the 11-15% that we saw in the 80's.

Time to wake up and smell the coffee, folks. It isn't going to be pretty.

5. Thanks Rapier2. I did just that as a vote of protest and no confidence
last week. Even mutual funds in retirement accounts are out of the market. My broker thought I was nuts, but it's partly on principle and partly on the fact that, to me, this market is now very, very scary!
