Some City Employees Upset With Negotiations (Peoria)
Some city of Peoria employees say a strike looms if their contract demands are not met.

The city's AFSCME employees Friday held an informational picket outside of city hall. <snip>

The latest contract expired in December and workers say the current offer on the table is not consistent with what other union workers in the city receive.

Vernon Johnson said, ''You are talking about three cents on the dollar. That doesn't even keep us up with the cost of living, gas prices. All I'm asking for is three pennies and they don't feel like we're worth that much. What does that say to the citizens of Peoria who we serve?'' <snip>
