Teachers get 2% raise in narrowly OK'd contract (LAUSD)
Los Angeles school district instructors and other district personnel OK an agreement providing the pay increase and fully paid health benefits.

By the narrowest margin in union history, Los Angeles Unified teachers on Friday stamped their approval on a labor contract guaranteeing them a 2 percent pay raise and a continuation of their fully paid health benefits.

Fifty-four percent of votes cast by United Teachers Los Angeles members -- teachers, nurses, librarians, counselors, health-care workers and psychologists -- were in support of the contract. School board members vote on the contract Tuesday. <snip>
