Another interesting convo with my Bush-sycophant co-worker
A few of you might remember this conversation from the other day:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x1777310

Well, on Friday, I had another conversation with this guy.

Seems he does some work on the side. Sounds like it's "under the table" (nudge nudge wink wink, say no more!). He once showed me his latest "fee" - paid in cash - a $1000 bill. I told him to hang onto it and not tell his Mrs. He told his Mrs. and put it in the bank. About a month later, I find out how the govt. is taking all $500 and $1000 bills off the market - and that the bills are fetching significantly more than face value.

So, you know his side business pays fairly decently.

Anyway, back to Friday's conversation.

He's a bit frazzled. Seems that all the work that he normally would be doing at this time of year (was quite busy last year at this time) has "trickled down" to about nil. (Housing inspections).

This guy once turned purple trying to convince me that Bill Clinton admitted having the affair with Monica Lewinsky long before Clinton actually admitted his indiscretion. Then, a few months later, the freeptard that he is, he denied ever having the conversation.

This guy, if he ever does see the light, will still deny it and bow down and kiss fill-in-the-blank-Repukes' feet, and work his way up.

The amazing thing is, he (like me) works for, get this, THE COUNTY GOVERNMENT. Hypocrite, thy name is Republican . . .

1. Interesting.
Houses seem to be staying on the market quite a bit longer around here, too. Hmm.

3. I watch the local real estate show
and more of the houses they're showing are empty, and more of them are being shown multiple times even after the "price reduced for quick sale" thing is pasted to them. Both these things mean houses are going unsold in this area, whereas two years ago, they'd stay on the market only a week or two (unless they were palatial monstrosities).

Add to this the fact that they're still slapping up suburbs on the fringes and that 1/3 of the new houses being sold are going to investors, and I think the word we're looking for is "saturation."

Developers won't quit until the loans dry up, so I have a sneaking suspicion we're about to have one hell of a buyer's market in this town.

2. You do know you get a reward for turning in people who are
cheating on their taxes, don'tcha? (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, you know a freeper wouldn't hesitate to turn in a Dem). The informant gets a percentage of the recovery and it would be your patriotic duty. Just a thought on a Saturday night.

5. I've done that, but never got paid. I did get someone audited, though!
Apparently prostituting your wife makes the IRS pay attention.

You can get a reward for reporting cheats to the IRS. But some states may not give you a reward from the state treasury department.

Call the IRS and ask them to send a reward request form. You can't get a reward unless you ask for it.

Good luck!

4. How in the world did this guy
get his hands on a thousand dollar bill when they were pulled from circulation in 1969? In fact, nothing higher than a hundred has been in circulation all this time, although. I think the only large denomination bills out there are in the hands of collectors, and should be worth considerably more than face value.

And yeah, go ahead and report him to the IRS. Do you really think he'd refrain from reporting you? Besides, I think you get a percentage of whatever they recover from him.

6. Just did some research, did you know that prior to the Great Depression
the housing market was booming, Hoover was glad to give big business any break his repuke government could, savings were very low, middle-class debt in the form of lay-aways was high. Big corporation profits rose by over 30%,in the five years before the stock market crash, yet wages rose only 9%. Does all this sound familiar?

7. I kept telling people, in 1999-2000 about my fears of a Repuke led
House, Senate, and Presidency.

I kept telling people, the last time that the Repukes controlled all three, aside from a brief two-year period, was 1929.

And we all know what happened that year.

It's just that the US sheep have given the Repukes a free pass because "9/11 changed everything".
