Gretchen Carlson Fox News
Edited on Thu Jan-08-09 10:01 AM by callchet
Gretchen Carlson was visibly shaken on Fox news today 01/08 at the announcement the the IRS is going to take a softer attitude toward delinquent

taxes. She wanted to know who was going to pay if we are letting some people of the hook. That is a smart girl. She sees the writing on the wall.

Now lets see Obama take that writing off the wall and put it into law.

1. She is anything but smart.
Edited on Thu Jan-08-09 10:01 AM by YOY
Fox News tells them what to say. There are morning memos every day about the tone and what to concentrate on from Roger Ailes' Office. It's prefilterd and truly propogandaesque mockery of "news".

If they say anything, that means they were told to say it. Expect nothing more from them.

I'm just an educated consumer. And if you want to suck the Fox News hog then you're in the wrong place.

4. I find that talk sorta vile.
For me. that always throws claims like "educated consumer" into question. Now, I'm wondering about your contention that the anchors can't make a facial gesture without consulting their boss. I'd feel better if you could document it for us.

I see these people with way more talent and skill than the average person has and I may not agree with them, but I don't feel a need to revile them.
If you're not a professional journalist I find it hard to accept your statements about them, simply because you probably don't know what you are talking about. If you want to call them opinions, then, fine, but opinions are plentiful and cheap. Let's just be honest about that.

Edited on Thu Jan-08-09 02:00 PM by YOY
You're talking about Fox News puppets having talent. Fuck them. Fuck Rupert Murdoch. Fuck anyone who watches Fox News for extra effort.

They're been masquerading their opinions as facts for years. And when their opinions are contrary of facts then they're not opinions. They're bald faced bullshit.

If you think that is journalism or that pointing out that their "opposing opinions" as bald faced lies is wrong, then you're in the goddamn wrong place.

6. I suppose that means you won't be supporting your
wild claims, then.

Without support, you slip closer to being considered just another (obnoxious) opinion.

7. Wild claims?
Edited on Thu Jan-08-09 02:10 PM by YOY
Claiming FOX is biased propoganda and that they're a bunch of Republican propogandist liars are wild claims?

Really... Please...

My next wild claim is that water is wet.

You don't have to watch a porno to know there are people fucking in it.

9. You don't read before posting, do you?
I very clearly talked about the daily memos from (someone's) office ordering tone for the day, and, presumably facial expressions, as that was what was in the OP.

I haven't referenced propaganda, Republicans or liars at all.

11. You referenced accepting Fox News as Journalists.
Edited on Thu Jan-08-09 02:31 PM by YOY
That in and of itself is laughable.

As for the memo's from (Someone's) office. Roger Ailes, President of Fox News. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Ailes

He sends out memos every morning telling them what the tone is and things to touch on. Just about everyone who has worked for Fox has talked about those memos. If they stray away from the tone they get fired. Not a wild claim in the least goddamn sense.

Exposed by this Documentary:
http://www.outfoxed.org/

If you disagree with them I suggest you prove them wrong.

There is a reason why Fox News viewers have been proven to be amongst the least informed "news watchers" in America.

15. Fox News - yuk - I agree with YOY
What YOY is saying about Fox news is 100% true. We don't need to be a journalist or have degrees up our ying yang to know what is going on around us. Just step back from it all and take a deep breath and observe ............ also do a lot of research which is plentiful on the internet. All journalist and reporters are told what to say. If they don't follow the rules they are fired. In fact fired journalist and reporters got together and now have a web site so they can tell you why they got fired and they can also report the news without being told what to say. Off hand I do not have this web site right next to me. Just research the internet you will find it. If you can't I'll post it for you.

16. Not at all. You have a perception problem.
I referenced the anchors, saying they were talented and skilled. I didn't weigh in on the quality of FOX News as media at all.

I'll take your apology by PM if you can't do it in public.

I see them perform.

I see you perform.

Do you understand the concept of Standard Deviation?

Their performance appears to be about 3 Standard Deviations above yours.

What actual evidence do you hold that indicates I am not a professional journalist?

8. The IRS is simply suspending payment to people who don't have the fucking money.
They won't call, berate, harass...if you have huge medical bills, lost your job, are on a fixed poverty-level income, they say they will SUSPEND--not forgive--payment.

If you get rich again, you pony up.

That's what they said. That is what they are going to do.

No one is "off the hook." It's just that the boom won't be repeatedly lowered, before they can get back on their feet.

But it usually gets there in the end.

Anyone who can say the two words "FOX" and "News" together with a straight face is just begging for a pizza with extra granite sauce.
