Bush's Tax Cuts and Big Spending: I need help

Could someone help me understand the large amounts of money Bush has spent away with his many big tax giveaways for the wealthy and other big spending bills the rethuglican has pushed through.

I am trying to combat some fundies about his spending but I lack the actual numbers.

Domestic spending is certainly not the problem here.

The tax cuts are. The idiotic precious irresponsible tax cuts that the Wall Streeters (I admit, I am in the financial services industry myself) just cannot bear to lose.

Read widely, google wisely, make your case.

Current problem is a loss on Revenue side of ledger.

Deficits.

Recall in January 1981 our debt was 917 Billion.

In January 1992 it was 4,000.

Reagan tax cut did not create revenue as advertised and still promoted today by Stephen Moore of Club For Growth and others.

They claim revenue zoomed from 599B to 990B.

That is correct. But--it was not from an "income" tax cut.

"Payroll" taxes zoomed by 201 Billion. "Excise" taxes by 50 Billion. (These were tax increases implemented by Reagan.)

That left 140 due to "income" tax cut.

Carter had a greater percent increase in revenue from income taxes.

Clinton set records.

Plus, Reagan budgets(not Congress) increased spending by 80%.
