No help for the unemployed but if you're in hedge funds...
Woohoo!...

Last Thursday Nancy Pelosi announced that there would not be another extension for those who have run out of benefits. These people are euphemistically called the 99er's since they have been unemployed for that amount of time and longer. Her attitude during her comments was cavalier to say the least and showed an incredible lack of empathy. What was the clincher for me though was her saying "The situation I see is that members who are from low unemployment areas are very concerned about the deficit. Members who are from high unemployment areas are very concerned about jobs. So we have to come to a compromise as to how to move forward, and we did with this bill going to November." A true political statement. Gotta balance the budget and the needs of all eh?...until I read this......

Must Congress Always Cave at Crunch Time?
By Sam Pizzigati

With millions of Americans out of work and hurting, lawmakers who claim they worry about budget deficits spent last week forcing ‘compromises’ that will save hedge fund kingpins billions in taxes.

1. No worries--I would say it is an appropriate post for this forum.
Another article with information to piss me off, as is usually the case with economic news and the politics involved.
