Poll question: Should citizens have the rights of corporations?
Since our Supreme Court ruled that corporations have the legal rights of citizens, I don't see why citizens shouldn't have the legal rights of corporations.

I intend to incorporate myself as Senior Citizen, LLC, A Limited Liability Citizen.

3. Not sure about land or handouts, but

if you're convicted of a crime that carries a mandatory minimum ten year prison sentence, you should only have to do 3 months of community service.

4. Yes, and I admit no wrongdoing, I just want to avoid
protracted litigation, and the facts of the case are to
remain sealed ...

5. You need another category
Corporations should have the same rights as citizens. If a corporation kills someone by deliberately selling a defective product, they may pay a fine or a few legal settlements and then charge it as a cost of doing business. If an individual does that then they are sentenced to prison. I oppose the death penalty for people, but I'd love to see it used on a corporation. They intentionally pollute a river knowing it will result in deaths, then the corporation is dissolved, all stocks certificates are voided, the assets are sold, and the victims reimbursed. Let that happen once or twice and corporations will suddenly increase in responsibility.

9. Well put!
Was it Standard Oil over in Bhopal India? Why corporate execs weren't strung up by their toes over that incident, I'll never understand.

And a more current example...All of Enron's assets should be sold off and the proceeds given to the tax payers of Ca.

7. Corps
1. The corporation is an artificial creation and must not enjoy the protections of the Bill of Rights.
2. Corporate owners and officiers must be liable for all the harms they cause.
3. No corporation should exist forever.

8. Yes! All thieves should be able to pay a fine rather than go to jail!

The SEC would certainly accept the extra bucks, and the jails would be empty.

White collar criminals would no longer be the only criminals still allowed to walk the streets.
