Virginia ranked 11th nationally in 2006 for the number of hybrid and alternative-fuel vehicles on the road, the Alliance for Automobile Manufacturers reports.
As for hybrids, however, the state ranks only behind California.
In 2006, nearly 240,000 hybrid and alternative-fuel vehicles took to Virginia roads, a 21 percent increase from the year before, according to a study conducted for the alliance by R.L. Polk and Co.
