Africa hot today. No rain for the last few weeks. crops in dire need of water.
Jorge and I set up a few solar water collectors. They don't produce a whole lot but we are getting by on impulse power for now.
Man, I miss A/C.
A solar incentive has been proposed by "congress". or as people like to call them "regress". This is a dollar short and a day late, huh?
They have also limited travel. No planes, no cars and only an occasion train, where are we going to go, anyway?
One tool after another for what is supposed to be our Presiddent, has passed through washington since 08. All have big aspirations but nothing to show for it. Funny now that oil is as rare as hens teeth, they only now wake up to the fact that the people don't listen to them anymore.
Bah, I'm just pissed.
The city tax people paid us a little visit last week. They stated that some of us weren't paying our property taxes anymore. Sadly, I'm not one of them, I still live with government paranoia. Probably a good thing.
Several people confronted the "tax people". Saying things like, if they provided services or just water and power, then they would pay. Taxes these days are nothing more than what they ever were, a reason for the officials to keep their jobs. the tax folks were promptly run off. Again, sadly, this is far from over.
The state security guys came by and took a census. Everyone was a little puzzled by that. Then they started spray painting various tags on the trees in front of several of the houses. No one took this as being a good sign. Two neighbors tried to ask them questions and several of the state guys, threatened them with detainment if they didn't get lost.
we are, needless to say, very worried.
I keep thinking about "garden plot". I have asked for an appointment with the commander of the army outpost at the high school. I haven't heard anything back yet.
At the last neighborhood meeting, we drew up plans to begin production of various products for sale. Two of which are, Peach Salsa and windmill conversions. The windmill from car alternator program seems to be working really well.
Now onto the world news...:)
Jorge came running out into the field yesterday yelling something. The Mexican government has finally collapsed. Not that we were very surprised, but it's a different thing when it actually happens. What does this mean for us? We are only a stones throw from Mexico. This might also explain the sudden increase in military fly overs.
Still nothing out of Denver.
Canada has signed a lease of sorts with Russia. It appears as if Russia is now going to try and develop the tar sands. Man that stuff is like cold fusion.
Europe in general is having major issues with the middle east refugee crisis. The level of radiation sickness has increase exponentially from two years ago. Cancer is apparently off the charts.
Connie, her daughter and I have been drawing up an emergency plan. I want to present it next week at the meeting. The State guys give me the creeps and I don't want to be caught off guard.
Times up...
