WATCH VIDEOPetroChina, the country's biggest oil and gas producer, says it will invest 10 billion yuan in building facilities for new energy production by 2010.
PetroChina's vice president says the investment is expected to reap the equivalent of three million tons of oil a year in new energy. The move is needed to ensure energy supplies for the world's fastest growing economy and second largest energy consumer after the US. The Oil giant is now investing heavily in new energy sources and renewable energy such as wind and solar power.
