Science is not so much a rushing to the sea of truth as it is
chaos for those involved.
The positions of inquisitors are ever uncertain
owing to information turbulence, eddies of frustration,
evaporation of interest/financial support and even potential
ground penetration and sequestration into forgotten fossil reservoirs.

Just a birthday thought as everyone prepares to begin a new academic year!

And don't forget that for scientists the honest phrase "I don't know" is a statement of personal awareness as much as it is of ignorance.

1. I think you're confusing ignorance with naivete.
Common mistake.

2. Science is not so much a rushing to the sea of truth as it is
...pooing in the toiletbowl of dogma.
Oh, the turbulence that ensues when we flush our resevoirs!
