Prius mileage...
We winter (Nov-Mar) in the desert in SoCal and get 45 mpg in our 2005 Prius.

In the Northwest, we get 52 mpg. More hills.

It's not gradual, either. From one to the other virtually overnight.

We get most of our gas - in both places - from Costco.

Any idea of why?

2. Interesting, big mack
We get in the low fifties here in So LA area unless we get into the hills. Then
around mid forties. 2005 Prius. Buy all our gas at Costco as well. No idea as to what
causes the difference. Have you checked some of the Prius sites? z

I use a Honda Civic Hybrid on occassion and have been looking for driving tips to maximize my mileage.
