Democrats need to get off Capitol Hill to win the gas price war
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kevin-grandia/demcrats-need-to-get-off_b_115016.html

I had the privelage of participating in a panel discussion on a new online show called Meet the Bloggers. Here's the introduction post I did yesterday all about Meet the Bloggers.

Also on the show was Senate Majority leader Harry Reid (D-NV), someone who has been trying very hard to tackle inflated gas prices and get America on the right track when it comes to its 20 million barrel-a-day oil addiction.

While I admire Reid for what he's done I think he is incorrect in the assumption he made on the show that the Democrats are winning on the energy and gas price issue - and I would have elaborated on this point on Meet the Bloggers, but unfortunately there was some technical difficulties and I lost my connection.

The truth is, at least according to my sources close to the party, that the Democrats are very worried that they're getting beat on this issue.

Also posted this article, here: http://www.desmogblog.com/meet-the-bloggers-with-senate-majority-leader-harry-reid

1. They can't win as long as idiotic crap like this gets printed:
http://www.covnews.com/main.asp?SectionID=22&SubSectionID=220&ArticleID=3400&TM=53948.9

Time is now for decisions

Recently, President George W. Bush signed an executive order that rescinded the ban on offshore drilling. At that time, he asked Congress to take action. After the order, oil prices began to fall. If Congress had acted on this request, we can only surmise that prices would continue to drop at a rapid pace as speculators would be driven from the market.

The Democratic controlled House of Representatives has stalled movement on enacting a measure to harvest the oil in Alaska and the Rocky Mountains. This non action is a direct slap in the face of hard working Americans. Most American families are working two jobs in order to keep up with the daily rising costs of everything they eat to everything they wear.

It wasn't too long that the almost mythical silent majority in this country rose up in unison to stop Congress and the president from passing an immigration bill, a bill that if passed would have wreaked havoc on the citizens of this country.

What is needed now is for the same group to rise up again to tell Congress to open our oil fields. We are sick and tired of being dependant on other nations for our well being. You can get the ball rolling; call your U.S. senator or representative. Tell them you have had enough. And then, when election time comes, kick out the rascals who do not support your wishes.

What we need in this country today is a good dose of the spirit of the people who died for it and struggled to create it.

***I have a ltte in today's edition slapping down their crap commentary from Wednesday. Man, I get no rest from these morans!

2. Drilling offshore will do nothing
For gas prices or get off foreign oil.

Oil is sold to the highest bidder on the world market - any new drilled oil in the US has as much chance being sold to China and Russia as it does the United States - total outright spin job by the GOP. But its working!

3. Exactly and that is just what I plan on telling them when I set the record straight
This is a total crap, right-wing rag and they can't get people to send them letters, so I decided I would send one every week just to make them see that some people are paying attention and are tired of their crap.
