Palin denies climate change realities on first day as McCain's running mate
Well that didn't take long: In an interview with Newsmax today, McCain's vice-presidential running mate Sarah Palin stated that:

"A changing environment will affect Alaska more than any other state, because of our location. I'm not one though who would attribute it to being man-made."

4. K & R
Talk about galvanizing.

An inexperienced, oil-loving, anti-choice, global warming denier.

I'm almost speechless.

8. Yet another statement showing that Palin may not put the country first as VP
... yet again putting Alaskan considerations ahead of the country as a whole, just as she did when saying she'd want to make sure that the VP slot would be productive for Alaskans. (link)

9. This is good because...
It puts the global warming debate and the oil drilling debate on center stage. And we win both by a simple reference to the facts.

12. To counter
Here's a comment someone just sent me, would be good to hear what you think:

"I could see a campaign to push her on this one point. Not sure if there's any electoral gain in doing so. If she backs down and says, "What I mean is that we don't know exactly how much people are contributing and the policies could be economically harmful" who wins? If she fights and starts spreading more anti-scientific information, who wins? If you make it yet another argument about GW science taking place through a highly partisan lens, who wins?"

14. (Republicans..)
(A certain group of my fellow Americans keep backing up anti-environmentalists in the most consuming country in the world.. while our one species has started a mass-extinction. This is my only issue from now. Maybe it's plain partisanship in me but this is the first time I'm really upset about this election. I can't talk about her anymore without sounding totally irrational and violent. This should ruin her but it won't and that makes me ashamed of being human.)
