For all graphics: Rigs/Platforms: Blue: evacuated only; Yellow will require inspection before restart; Red: damage requiring repair; Refineries: Black: operational impact (partial shutdown) Green: Operational impact (full shutdown) Red: Damage likely; Ports: standard hurricane flags for wind

Yep, I will be at ASPO. The Oil Drum is having two Sunday sessions.

Also, we have a newly updated set of models. Refining capacity could be in for some trouble with this track, but it's a little too early to tell yet.

6. Is it just me, or is the track starting to bend back slowly to the east?

Of course, the damn thing is only moving about 8 mph, adding just that much more uncertainty to the next few days . . . .

8. Hey! Periodic gigantic hurricanes mean more and more . . .. and more . . . and more drilling!

Granted, they'll end up replacing the odd rig and platform from time to time, but hey, what's the worst-case scenario per incident there? $1 billion? $2.5 billion? Meh.

But with all that collective drilling, how can Energy Independence fail to fall into our laps? It's foolproof!
