"Clean Coal Technology"
---

I hear this phrase quite a bit.

One question:
Is the mining of the coal included in this alleged cleanliness?

1. Clean coal technology refers only to it's burning.
It's a filthy business.

2. Yep, it clean takes off mountain tops.
And the added benefit is strip mines make great state parks for off-roaders!

3. Coal mining is very destructive.

Wind power is here. It's cheap and easy.
Energy conservation has always been an option. We need real CAFE standards. Todays cars on average are not much nore efficient than they were in the 70s.

I don't think we can just hop out of burning fossil fuels and land cleanly on green energy, but we need to push toward that goal like our lives depend on it.

13. clean coal technology
Coal is a fossil fuel composed primarily of carbons and hydrocarbons. Its ingredients help make plastics, tar and fertilizers. A coal derivative, a solidified carbon called coke, melts iron ore and reduces it to create steel

5. Testify.
I cringe every time I hear the phrase come out of Obama's mouth. How can an otherwise extremely intelligent person claim to support the notion. I know the coal states are improtent to the election process -- hopefully, he'll drop the pipe dream when he's president and focus on technologies that are actually clean.

6. Don't kid yourself - Obama is not very Progressive
in fact his voting record (Senate and state) is more Blue Dog than anything else.

Hopefully he will have a 'come to Jesus' moment and make a Left turn after the election and drop the Clean Coal and Nuke crap

We'll see.

8. ...but, but he's the most liberal Senator there ever was, McPalin told me so
I understand he's not a flaming progressive but he is smart. It doesn't take a great deal of intelligence to understand that coal is not clean in any form.

9. Thats why we need to support the races for senate and house too!
Here in Oregon we have a critical senate race. Merkley is hoping to take a seat held by Republican Gordon Smith.

One of the things I like about Jeff Merkley is his involvement in Habitat for Humanity. He is all about supporting the middle class and reforming health care.

And Oregon has mail-in ballots. They are shipping ballots tomorrow!

PLEASE, OREGON! VOTE FOR MERKLEY!

11. WE need to make sure that Obama has his "Come to Jesus" moment.
Unlike the current White House occupier, Barack Obama (I hope) will be very responsive to us.
