2. Google "solar energy" and your location
and see what comes up. Rock Grove Sun Company has been doing alternative energy stuff for at least 15 years here in NW Arkansas, for example. Next, google "recycling" and your area. Huntsville AR has a great recycling center--they take everything. Finally, google "environmental groups" and your area, then check out what your local groups are doing. The Newton County Wildlife Association has been battling clear cuts and has members who are into recycling, alternative energy, and organic gardening. The examples are from my area in NW Arkansas, and represent what you can find close to home if you look.

3. Perhaps you could be more specific...
Historical, political, take action, buy products, how to guides???

That's a lot of territory.

You might be surprised by how many people are not well informed on these topics.

And yeah. I spent most of my energy dealing with economics and civil liberties, so I never really bothered to learn the ins-and-outs of the Green movement. But now with Obama's interest in it I figured I should try to learn some more.

And thanks for your links. :)

11. Google is for chumps.
Well, not really. But I dislike turning to it for all of life's problems. Human networking is still nice, sometimes.

Even when those people are paranoid and judgmental.

7. You can start with the material Al Gore has presented
You can listen to these in the background while doing other things:
Complete videos of Al Gore hearings at house.gov and senate.gov
That's from March 2007 with the official DU live-blogging threads,
plus his 2006 policy address at NYU.
(I've had that link in my sigline for a long time, I may be changing it soon.)

http://www.wecansolveit.org/content/solutions">Solutions - We Can Solve It one of Al Gore's websites.

http://www.repoweramerica.org"> Repower America - 100% clean electricity within 10 years another Al Gore website.
