God 'will not give happy ending'

God will not intervene to prevent humanity from wreaking disastrous damage to the environment, the Archbishop of Canterbury has warned.

In a lecture, Dr Rowan Williams urged a "radical change of heart" to prevent runaway climate change.

At York Minster he said humanity should turn away from the selfishness and greed that leads it to ignore its interdependence with the natural world.

And God would not guarantee a "happy ending", he warned.

Dr Williams has often spoken out about environmental issues.

I read this as he is a churchman who understands our relationship with
the planet, who wants to encourage "green" attitudes and who intensely
dislikes the views of the rapture-ready crowd as the latter are the ones
who are abusing the planet whilst using their distorted "faith" as an
excuse for selfishness & irresponsibility.

I might disagree with some of his views but, as churchmen go, he is one
of the better ones and his support is welcomed (by me at any rate!).

4. Nur noch ein Gott
können uns retten, 'Only one more God can save us', said the German thinker.

If God is synonyme for All and everything is interconnected in a hologrammic way, so that All is wholly present in each part (as world is and happens, also according to Quantum physics), so perhaps the realization of "One more God" is the realization that God is not out there but each of us parts of the Whole participate in godhood, in All of This.
