Swiss to wrap glaciers in foil

Swiss authorities are planning to wrap mountain glaciers with tin foil this summer in an effort to stop them melting.

Carlo Danioth, head of mountain rescue services in Andermatt, said: "We will initially cover around 30,000 square feet on the upper Gurschen glacier at the beginning of May as a test."

Scientists hope that the high-tech foil will prevent the sun's rays from melting the ice in popular ski resorts during the summer months...cont'd

2. WTF?
Don't they know that doing that will cause them to continue cooking? They'll melt faster. Baked potatoes do that. Really they do. Bad idea.

4. Rick Wakeman did that in 1979!
Well, the designer of the cover for his album "Rhapsodies" did anyway ...

5. There should be a rule.
If you find that your species is wrapping your planet's glaciers in tinfoil, it's time to take a step back and meditate on how you arrived at this embarrassing crossroads in your life.

7. "What are you doing?"
"We're putting on the foil!"

"Yeah, we do it before every game."

"Want some?"

"...No."

A thumbs-up from me for anyone who can tell me what movie those quotes are from.

10. That's too easy, Cicero!
You're talking about the Hansen brothers from Slapshot in response to Paul Newman's Reggie.

 right back at cha!
