From dust bowl to wetland in outback NSW

No way through: The Barrier Highway from Broken hill to Wilcannia has reopened after it was closed for most of Thursday.
---------

Graziers in Far West NSW are continuing to enjoy the best start to the season in years. Falls of up to 90 millimetres in Broken Hill were reported this morning, while stations heading east towards Wilcannia couldn't believe their luck with the wet stuff yesterday.

After what some have described as the area's single best rainfall in a decade, Sara Jackson at Rowena Station says the land looks incredible. "I've been married 10 years in October and it's the best I've seen it since I've been here. It's fantastic," she says.

"It's gone from an absolute feral dust bowl that no one wants to know about to a frog-infested wetland."
