The utility said Tuesday it has signed a five-year contract with SunPower Corp. to provide high-efficiency solar panels capable of generating about 200 megawatts, or about 80 percent of the total expected for the project. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

1. Now that is a smart idea.
Uses existing roofs, property owner gets a revenue stream for the roof spaces, reduces solar heat into the building (a hidden bonus of PV panels is they create an air gap reducing direct heat radiation into building), is close to source of demand.

A win-win-win-win.
