Bill Clinton says act now lest planet be ruined for grandchildren.

By Craig Pearson, Canwest News Service | April 16, 2010

WINDSOR, Ont. - Former U.S. president Bill Clinton told a Windsor crowd Thursday night that global warming is real and that people should not be unnerved by the size of the problem it represents.

And he said this generation must act or risk ruining the planet for our grandchildren.

``We live in an unequal world, we live in an unstable world,'' said Clinton, who was a touch greyer and whose voice was a tad more hoarse than in the past, but who still carried himself with presidential charisma. ``And it is completely unsustainable.''

2. Oh crap...what did you do for the environment today?
Clinton's statement probably was probably a bigger net positive for the environment than all the recycling you and I have ever done.

3. ...and how many newspapers report on your speeches?
Clinton's words travel far and people pay attention to what he says.

I say good for him for speaking up, regardless of how he travels.

4. Because after all, unless you inhabit a cave and weave your clothes from wild yak hair . . .
You're totally unsuited to even have opinions on environmental policy.

5. Finally
I've been saying this for 20 years. Nice to see a politician catching up to those of us who recognized the problem back when Nixon was president.

Bill Clinton has finally overcome. Who's next? Who will Al Gore get to next?
