BP Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill Bigger than Manhattan
Found a very cool Google Earth app created by one of the Google Map engineers. You can compare the size of the spill to any region in the world. This thing is already dwarfing Manhattan: http://www.energyboom.com/policy/bp-gulf-mexico-oil-spill-bigger-manhattan

1. It certainly makes one wonder if the Planet can/will survive this. There is going
to be a massive loss of life of our ocean critters for certain.

3. Every day
I just keep thinking back to how big of a disaster it was after just the first day - now its been gushing oil for more than two weeks. What the hell is the Gulf going to look like in another two weeks if they continue to fail?!

4. I gotta say that our Government is just as much at fault for letting this go on with
no safe guards. We need to put a complete stop to off shore drilling, period.

5. I'm sorry to think it will take the destruction of the gulf to achieve this
boy was Obama wrong on this one. So much overconfidence.

And if it doesn't stop now it's the end of us.

6. Nobody is going to stop offshore drilling.
They were issuing exceptions even as they announced the temporary moratorium.
