Bipartisan Electric Drive Vehicle Deployment Act to be introduced today

"It's a big day, possibly, for the EV world.

A bipartisan group of legislators plans to introduce matching bills in the House and Senate that would create various incentive programs to help spur deployment of electric cars and trucks and development of the charging infrastructure necessary to keep them rolling.

The House sponsors, led by Massachusetts Democrat Edward Markey and Illinois Republican Judy Biggart, are slated to introduce their version of the Electric Drive Vehicle Deployment Act of 2010 at 9:30 am Eastern time."

1. i am for making it part of the stimulus.
Let the government take by eminent domain the closed factories and bring in companies like Tesla to manufacture an affordable EV ASAP.
Fuck waiting for that invisible hand of the market crap....that invisible hand would choke any change to death if it could.

(due in large part to incentives offered by Schwarzenegger)

3. But will it be for EVs for the rich and famous?
Or a car that ordinary people can afford?
