1. I find this little tidbit interesting and a little enraging
"Soon after President Barack Obama took office, his administration received a forceful warning about the dangers of offshore oil drilling. The alarm was rung by a federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., which found that the government was unprepared for a major spill at sea, relying on an "irrational" environmental analysis of the risks of offshore drilling. Despite its pro-environment pledges, the Obama administration urged the court to revisit the decision. Politically, it needed to push ahead with conventional oil production while it expanded support for renewable energy. (7/6, #21)"
----------------------------
So WTF did he encourage offshore drilling?

I also agree that there will be no serious work on alternate energy until it's practically too late. Big Oil is too influential. There will be some drastic changes in our economies, our daily lives. I hate to think of the consequences.

I wonder
at these presidents who are given strong warnings about things when they take office and then blithely ignore them. Remember the warning about Osama Bin Laden?

It's quite disingenuous for these men to say they didn't see it coming. When they were Warned. I sure wish it wasn't other people's lives that have to pay for their shortsightedness and political gamemanship.

4. Remember this...
It's always easier to get forgiveness than it is to get permission.

By playing dumb, people just chalk it up to more BS politics rather than holding people accountable.

That's what the politicians count on. Woe be the day, that we hold them accountable.
