Chinese Solar PV Equipment Market is Expected to Lead in the Globe (thank you GOP)

The PV industry covers the entire conversion process from solar energy to electric energy. Solar PV equipment lays a solid foundation for the PV industry chain since each segment in the PV industry chain requires related production equipment. Chinese solar PV equipment industry has developed into a certain scale, providing strong support for the development of the PV industry.

Chinese solar PV equipment manufacturers have been equipped with the supply capacity of the complete set of equipment for the silicon material production, silicon wafer processing, solar cell chip production, preparation of pure water, environmental protection and the construction of purification projects.

According to “Research Report on Chinese Solar PV Equipment Industry, 2010-2011”, the sales revenue of major solar cell manufacturers in China amounted to CNY 2.02 billion, rising by 14.44% YOY In 2009. The sales revenue of solar-grade silicon growth and processing equipment came up to CNY 1.32 billion, increasing by 7.34% YOY and accounting for 65.1% in the aggregate sales revenue of solar cell equipment. The sales revenue of crystalline silicon solar cell chip production equipment reached CNY 705 million, going up by 30.56% YOY and taking up 34.9% in that of solar cell equipment.

In 2009, Chinese solar industry enjoyed high-speed growth. Chinese government also launched a series of subsidy and supporting policies. In March 2009, China’s Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued the Implementing Opinion Concerning Speeding up the Promotion of the Use of Solar Energy PV Power in Buildings and Interim Measures for the Administration of Government Subsidies of Building Uses of Solar Energy Photovoltaic Power, determining the subsidy standard of 20 CNY/W for buildings integrated with solar PV in 2009. In July, China’s Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Science and Technology and Bureau of Energy released the Notice on the Implementation of Golden Sun Demonstration Project, offering the 50% fiscal subsidies for on-grid PV projects and 70% fiscal subsidies for off-grid PV generation projects in electroless areas. In November, China’s Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Science and Technology and Bureau of Energy further launched the Notice on Accelerating the Implementation of Golden Sun Demonstration Project.
