Bush Was Considering An Attack On Nuclear Sites In Syria

Former U.S. president George Bush Jr. admitted in his memoirs that it was considering the possibility of strike on nuclear sites in Syria, but withdrew it, Itar-Tass.

Bush mentioned that in 2007 had received intelligence information about “suspicious, well-hidden site located in the desert in eastern Syria, which resembled a North Korean nuclear center in Yongbyon.

This led him to suspect that Syria is trying dapomogne North Korea develop its own nuclear program for military purposes.

He shared this information in a telephone conversation with then-Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who asked Bush “to destroy the complex.

1. I can't get over the blood-thirsty arrogance of this man. Kill people anywhere
you feel like ........... as long as you're making someone money and it's not your own kids dying, it's all good. Still crossing my fingers he's trotted off to The Hague one day.

I think this is interesting info and I'm glad to be hearing it. But I don't think it tells us anything new about Bush's worldview or FP goals. It says more about what his limits were and where the US support for Israel stops. Bush was happy to attack the weak regimes in Iraq and Afghanistan, but not the stronger (stronger in an 'internal control' sense) ones in Syria, North Korea, and Iran.

4. North Korea couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a bus.
They are a non-threat, at least to anyone but their own people.
