Apparently Macs and Linux are pretty much harmless to birds - no surprise there.

but how do they know how many are feral cats and how many are outdoor pets, I wonder?

6. Domestic AND Feral cats

The page which is the source of this graph explains that the cat bar is both domestic and feral cats but also notes that far more deaths are due to natural predation. They also mention the heavy impact of cats on island ecologies so I'm not sure how that works into this graph.

in Arkansas, Louisianna, Austin (3 yrs. ago almost to the day), and so many other similar incidents, represented on that graph. We've heard any number of flimsy explanations - fireworks, loud noises, cold weather, virus, etc.
My guess is that these too are due to something manmade...if you get my drift.

I have been a birder for 30 years. There are but 10% of the birds in the sky as there was when I started.

Something is killing them off faster than they can breed.

11. Don't worry. It's just the wingnuts poisoning the drinking water supply again.

TEXAS: There are pharmaceutical grade drugs as a major contaminant in our reservoirs here (sewage is NOT recycled so it's coming from something else). IIRC Two years ago a river feeding into one of our reservoirs turned red due to illegal dumping of some chemical, I think they said it was kerosine. It was on the news here in Dallas.

Anybody still have doubts that the conspiracy theory about the GOP wanting to kill off 90% of the world's population is real?
