Camera pan around really impressive looking offshore platform, all lit up, at dusk.

Narrator:“Imagine how much energy it takes to fuel an entire city of a million households, day and night, for six years. That’s how much energy Kerr-McGee will recover from just one deepwater field, with just on production spar, that produces offshore oil and gas where we couldn’t before. Nobody delivers energy to Americans, like the deepwater explorers of Kerr-McGee.”

So, we are supposed to be impressed that we have an infrastructure where energy for one million households can be lost when the next Cat. 4 scores a direct hit on the platform?

Kinda bad time to be advertising the potential of deep water oil and gas, isn’t it?

1. Has the 11 lost rigs story been verified yet?

I'm baffled why nobody has covered it yet. If true it's bound to be another major environmental disaster that will effect the entire gulf ecosystem.
