Even the train rails are buckling. Desperate times.

If it weren't for airconditioning...
I just hope we don't deceive ourselves that we can escape these extreme changes by simply
flipping a switch. How fragile we are.

4. And roads are buckling -- like Legacy Drive in Plano.
Hey, if so many mortgages are under water, why aren't those houses keeping the ground wet? ;-)

5. I think the liquid nectar in the hummingbird feeder has gotten too hot for
my little hummer friends. They were drinking a full bottle every few days up until a couple of weeks ago. Now, even though I've moved the feeder into deep shade, they seem hesitant to drink it.

I turned on the sprinkler at the base of one of my big oaks at dusk the other day and birds came from all over just to cool down. It was fun to watch, but it really is a sign of just how deperate things have become. I hope everyone is putting out food and drink for our fellow critters.

13. Yes...TWICE. And I put about half as much in it the second time. It's been a week
and they still haven't finished it. Any other suggestions? I'll try anything.

14. climate change
Here in Western Europe this the contrary: no more of the anticyclone from the Azores, no more summer season, almost 50 days in row of rain and low temperatures.

15. Welcome to DU, Alexr!!!
:toast:

It's been rather depressing, eh? I've cheered myself up watching movies like Jane Eyre and Mary Queen of Scots.
