Carbon emission "pathways" tool
I'd love to see versions of http://2050-calculator-tool.decc.gov.uk/pathways/1111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111/primary_energy_chart">this calculator for the US and for global emissions.

It's based on physical science constraints and is silent on matters such as economic and political feasibility, but since those are absolutely unbreakable constraints, plans that can't pass muster under this kind of analysis aren't worth considering. This is all in the spirit of David MacKay's marvelous http://www.withouthotair.com/">"Sustainable Energy - without the hot air".
