From Gizmag
October 12, 2005 Yamaha is to reveal a hybrid motorcycle concept at the Tokyo Show which is quite unlike any form of two wheeler seen to date. The motorcycle, to be known as the Gen-Ryu, uses the high output lightweight compact YZF-R6 600cc motor and an electric motor

the correct link ends in a slash,
the DU messageboard software removes the trailing slash.
You have to cut and paste,
or use the "link" special html thing
here

6. Hey thanks to everyone,
for the replies! I eventually found the article at the original URL which has now been edited. I wonder what kind of MPG that monster gets? The fairing is an excellent idea.

7. Like the fairing also
I like the way the headlight is made up of many lights. No MPG listed.

I wonder if motor is direct drive or if just charges the batteries.

You could do it both ways. Low rpm just charges higher mpg.

Or direct drive and charge middle mpg

Or direct drive high rpm for speed low mpg

Here another link to show that they came out 4 different bikes

hybrid, electric and fuel-cell motorcycle and scooter prototypes and one

production electric scooter

http://www.greencarcongress.com/2005/10/yamaha_taking_f.html

Same page has some info on Ford and PSA new efficient diesel

Some info on DOE road map on bio diesel

Have to go back to work so can't read it all

8. I love the way that thing looks!
It reminds me of some future cycle out of an anime movie, or something Batman might drive.

I bet they could use a much smaller engine, though. 600cc's is kind of excessive for a personal vehicle.
