Canadian seal kill starts 03/29
Edited on Sat Mar-11-06 01:08 PM by monk24
That annual abomination known as Canada's "seal hunt" will begin on March 29th this year. It is the largest commercial slaughter of marine mammals in the world, with more than 300,000 seals, most of whom will be no more than two months old, killed for their skins.

Below is a link to a petition sponsored by the Humane Society of the United States calling on Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper to end this butchery. Please consider adding your signature and passing it on to anyone else you think may be interested:

2. done
I have signed numerous petitions for the Humane Society, the McCartney's have brought national attention to this, Harper is a RW and I doubt he will do anything to stop it.

i really doubt that the human race will ever be enlightened..

3. Done! I don't understand why Canada allows this.
I have been fighting this seal slaughter for over 45 years.
I thought we had made inroads into halting the senseless
slaughter of all animals for the fur industry.

It looks like we have a long way to go.

PS- Anyone notice how many teams in the Winter Olympics
had fur in their outfits. Gratefully, the US wasn't one of them.
What the hell ?!?

4. It's the old rule ...
... "If we don't do it, someone else will."

Sad. Disgraceful. Disgusting. Human.

Amazing how similar the words sound to an animal.

5. This is depressing. People were protesting the seal hunt when I was in
high school 30 years ago. I remember Frank Zappa had a song about it in 1974.
