UK Climate & Carbon Policies "Faltering", Says MPs' Report - Scotsman
THE UK government's attempts to cut carbon emissions are being hampered by "non-existent or faltering" policies, according to a report by an influential Westminster group of MPs.

A report by the Environment Audit committee, published today, reprimands ministers for failing to prepare the ground for such green energy sources as off-shore wind power.

Consequently, the government's stated aim of reducing carbon emissions by nearly 20% is now looking increasingly unlikely to be achieved.

The report also criticises Labour over its apparent favouring of nuclear energy to fill the future energy gap.
