No Large Solar Projects Planned on Federal lands
http://www.blm.gov/nhp/what/lands/realty/solar_energy.htm

The above info. from the Bureau of Land Management talks about the potential of large scale solar energy projects on Federal land on southwestern desert land. None is currently proposed. BLM passed a policy in 2004 that was meant to encourage these types of projects.

This is such a natural - to use desert land near major population centers such as Phoenix for solar energy instead of destroying the Arctic wilderness for oil.

1. amazing, just amazing
This should be a no-brainer. Man are we gonna be in serious trouble in a year or two. The short-term thinking and denial of reality is unbelievable typical.

4. Highest Growth Areas Have Best Potential for Solar
I can't personally solve the power problems of the Third World.

However, it is clear that the greatest potential locations for the US for large scale solar power are right next to the areas of the US that have the highest population growth, including the Phoenix and Las Vegas metro areas. Moreover, the vast majority of the desert land around these areas is already in US government ownership. Solar on public lands should be very high priority.
