Major breakthrough with my RW DBF..........................

My DBF, who drives a Chevy Silverado pickup to cross the street, let alone on real trips, announced to me today that he and a bunch of guys at work (he works 3 miles from his home) have bought conversion kits for their bicycles. They are going to have electric motors on their bikes, and start riding them to work!!!!!!!!!! (I had to laugh - I ride mine to work 3 miles sometimes, and I use my own legs to do it)

I realize he is doing this out of concern for the increasing cost of gas for his greedy beast of a car, rather than true environmental reasons. But I don't care. I just think it's great that he's finally doing something to decrease his use of fossil fuels!!!!

He also said to me a couple of weeks ago that the high gas prices were a blessing in disguise, that they would force people to conserve so we could eventually maybe eliminate our dependence on Middle Eastern (and eventually all foreign) oil.

Wonders never cease.

A libertarian neighbor asked me out, but I don't think I have the energy. At this stage in my life (or maybe because of six years of the current Maladministration?), I just want agreement!

So I am not going to second guess him on needing a power assist.
