White House: Lesser Bird Flu May Be Here

Monday, August 14, 2006; 10:46 AM

WASHINGTON -- Scientists have discovered the possible presence of bird flu
in wild mute swans in Michigan _ but it does not appear to be the worrisome,
highly pathogenic strain, the White House announced Monday.

"They believe it is a strain of low pathogenicity, similar to strains that have
been seen before in North America," White House spokesman Tony Snow said.

Testing is still being done to confirm the presence of the virus and its type,
officials said.

2. More terra. Our government is bound and determined to find a reason

for spending money on medicine to fight bird flu. Donald Rumsfeld, a member of the terra pack, is set to make a fortune on his investments if his cronies can find a way to justify spending millions on the medicine to combat bird flu. Of course, some studies show it doesn't really work on bird flu. How typical. Just another way today's GOP wastes our money and lies to us.

Rat Pack = Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Peter Lawford, Joey Bishop.

Terra Pack = George Bush, Dick Cheney, Condoleeza Rice, Donald Rumsfeld, Karl Rove.

At least the Rat Pack was talented... :eyes:

6. Since nearly all flus originate with birds, that's a pretty safe bet.

But if it's not the H5N1 strain, it ain't the Bird Flu.

7. Ooh, that's a very good point.

I think the administration is pulling out all the stops to infect the populace with fear. I stopped being afraid after I had time to think about what really happened on 9-11.
