If you really MUST have a Hummer
Seen at the Alternative Car and Transportation Expo in Santa Monica, CA:

Lots of great alternative-propulsion cars to check out and even take for a test drive. Most fall into the NEV category (Neighborhood Electric Vehicle) and are limited to streets with speed limits of 35mph or less. This one, however, knocked me out:

EV buffs may recognize this as the ill-fated Corbin Sparrow. Well sort of--Corbin Motors sold the car to Myers Motors and it now is called the NmG (No More Gas). It has had every significant operational part upgraded and can zip around at over 70mph. Because it doesn't have four wheels it's considered a motorcycle, so it can be licensed for travel anywhere. At $25K it's about twice as expensive as most NEVs, and only has room for one. But it travels 30mi/charge, so if you're daily driving is less than 30 miles you plug it in at night and you're ready to go tomorrow. Cost works out to be around $25 per 1000 miles of driving.

wtmusic takes the NmG for a test drive, wishing to never return:

1. LoL! I like the NmG - but I need room to put two dogs in the backseat...
And then that would be the ONLY car I would ever need.

:D :D :D

6. Cute -- but I don't think so. My Golden Retriever RIDES he does not pull.

11. What part of New England are you from?
"Hummer" as you use it is a NE regionalism, ya know.

12. I'm not from NE
but Hummer, in the area I am from, does have a regional aspect to it.

5. I know that Hummers are self-indulgent and wasteful
but does anyone seriously expect people to drive around in that peach-colored gonad?

10. I'm sure you could get a white one.
It's not particularly more ridiculous than a motorcycle.

I actually think that we should expect people to drive around in things like this. The Hummer (not the one shown here, but the "real" thing) is far more absurd than this thing could ever be.
