Leading the project will be POSCO’s electric power business affiliate, POSCO Power.
Under the agreement, POSCO Power will construct a fuel cell power plant with a capacity of 100 megawatt (MW) per year by 2010. Fuel cell power plants generate highly efficient electricity, more than other generation plants, without causing air pollution.
In its first phase, the company plans to run a 50MW plant by the second half of 2008, and fully operate the 100MW plant in three years.
