My girlfriend really surprised me last night...
prior to meeting me, she was what I would call politically ignorant. Not a bad person and certainly liberal by every definition of the word, but not really on top of what's going on out there.

Well 3 1/2 years later, she's just as savvy as I am if not more so.

So anyway, I'm getting very worried about Pemex and the Cantrall oil field collapse. She and I are trying our best to conserve and grow our own veggies etc. we have been talking about installing a water capturing system at our house in the next couple of weeks for our garden.

We have a tankless water heater, but the down side is that it sometimes takes forever, at first, for the water to heat up. Wasting lots of water. I have a real issue with this, but I wanted to talk to her about this and perhaps bucket the excess water to a holding tank, but I had thought that this idea would go over like a lead balloon, so I was kind of figuring out a way to bring this up without her thinking it was another one of my doom and gloom world is going to change we have to be a community or we will all die scenarios.

Lo and behold, last night, she says, "you know, we waste a lot of water, we should find a way to capture it, instead of it going down the drain". I kissed her on the mouth and I thanked god she was my girlfriend!!!

We found some old army surplus canvas buckets at a local army/navy store.

I can say now that we are now capturing our water. LOL

Yeah, this was a long winded post but to me it was such a wonderful moment. :)
